NARS Outreach Program

Call for Workshop Proposals 2019-2020

Applications Accepted on a Rolling Basis.

NARS is pleased to invite teaching artists to send workshop proposals for our Free Saturday Family Workshop series, which take place monthly in 2019 and 2020. Depending on the time of the year and the requirements of the activities, the workshops will be given at the NARS Foundation space or at one of our partnering schools in Sunset Park.

Applications should be accessible for families and children of all ages. Artists should plan to lead a small introduction, and then help participants in a hands on workshop. NARS will provide all necessary art supplies, space, and administrative support, as well as a small budget for purchasing specialty items. NARS offers a modest $100 honorarium to all Teaching Artists.

Selected applicants will be contacted for an interview at the NARS office with NARS staff.

Workshops are held 2-4pm one Saturday a month between October - June.

Our Educational Community Outreach Initiatives strive to create a connection between artists working today and the next generation by cultivating critical thinking, curiosity, creative problem solving skills, and greater self-esteem through hands-on visual arts experiences. Our fundamental goal is to engage and inspire young artists and art enthusiasts through interactive arts programming.

Alongside our international residency and exhibitions program, these workshops seek to create a platform for exchanging ideas and create a stronger community.

All teaching artists regardless of age, gender, and nationality are eligible to apply.

All proposals should be tailored to a 2 hour session.

Applicants may submit up to 3 proposals of workshops, whether individually or on a team, per Open Call.
